Culinary Tray Aide

POSITION SUMMARY

The Culinary Tray Aide is responsible for assisting the cook in the service of meals, meeting scheduled mealtimes. They will follow policies and procedures established in the Culinary Service Department, and promote food standard through cost, quality, and quality controls.

Provides meal service that meets the desires of the residents, by allowing as much choice as possible, and giving food service and preserves the element of personal dignity.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Provides Assistance in ensuring that Adequate food and nutritional services meet the individual needs of the resident

• Assist in setting up dining room and serving residents in a cordial and friendly manner.
• Assist in assembly trays, delivering them to residents and communicating to nurse upon delivery.
• Assist in dining room and kitchen clean up
• Follow proper method of storing food as delegated
• Monitor food temperature as delegated

Know and follow Sanitation Safety procedures

• Standard precautions will be utilized paying particular attention In proper handwashing technique
• Maintains standard of food handling and sanitation
• Uses proper body mechanics in lifting, twisting, and completing job tasks
• Uses all equipment and chemicals safely following proper guidelines
• Always maintains resident confidentiality. Understands the importance of privacy for all healthcare data.
• Is courteous and cooperative with residents, families and co-workers
• Follows expectations of supervisor and give feedback as needed

FACILITY COMPLIANCE

• Promotes a highly positive workplace centered on strong customer service, inclusivity and ensuring staff feel welcome and supported
• Attends all meetings related to safety, infection control and disease process
• Is knowledgeable and abides by Residents Rights
• Attends all staff meetings and education pertaining to the facility and your department
• Attends education program such as qualify improvement, customer satisfaction and other such courses.
• Completes Audits as designed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

• Must have desire to work with geriatric patients
• Must have the ability to follow directions and communicate clearly to residents and families
• Must be able to complete job duties with or without accommodations

Preferred

Experience in healthcare, skilled nursing facility or assisted living community
